Kids Camp 2014

Its unusual anymore for kids to learn how to sew.  Today's kids play video games and learn to be amazingly efficient on computer. Getting them to release their smartphones is a difficult task indeed.

However, kids who learn to sew also learn a skill that helps them become self sufficient adults.

Our Kids Camp 2014 completed just a couple of weeks before school started in the area. Each student who participated took home a brand new Juki HZL29, all the items they created and a cool certificate of completion.

The week long class was taught by Bob, and thanks to volunteers and employees, the students had one or more mentors to help them along the way. The day began at 9am and ended at 3:30pm with breaks in between.

The students created cellphone covers, tote bags, aprons, placemats, pillowcases and more with the cool fabrics provided.

They even had the opportunity to work with the embroidery machine to do monogramming on one item they created.
