Once upon a time, there was a naughty, greedy man with an idea. He would sell beautiful, pristine, looking product at a cheap price. People would come from all around to buy the product because they looked like high quality and they were inexpensive. People would think he was a wonderful person and he would be very popular. His product would sell at big box stores and everyone would know their name.
But, being a naughty, greedy man, he had a secret. Underneath all the shiny exterior, was a cheap product. Yet his secret ran even deeper. If any part of the product broke, there were no parts available to fix them, and they would have to buy a whole new product. It was a dirty trick.
People from all over, brought the product to the best repair shop in town, but the repairman had no way to fix them. The naughty, greedy man made sure no one could make the parts for his product.
But the repairman knew a secret himself. An honest, good man created top quality product from the inside, out. He wanted his customers to be happy, so not only did he make sure that if his product needed to be repaired, parts would be available, but the products would be made so well that they would rarely break down. His products were a little more expensive at first, but they lasted for many many years.
The repairman, who serviced and repaired all makes and models of the product, knew that of all the products brought in to be repaired in a year, only 1% of the machines were made by the good man.
The people of the town started to get wise. They realized that there was no savings in buying a cheap product that broke quickly but couldn't be repaired. So little by little, word spread. The naughty, greedy man didn't care about them. He only cared about money. The good man cared if his customers were happy. And so came the saying "You get what you pay for".
The End.
