100 Percent Cotton Fabric $4.99/yrd

The best addition to our store this past year has been 100 percent cotton fabric. Our employees are fabric addicts, and instead of staging an intervention, we found a way to bring fabric in at a price we could afford.

After researching, talking to fabric manufacturers and consulting our own fabric expert Debbie Maines Wampler, we found a source for top quality 100 percent cotton fabric perfect for quilting and garment construction.

Being garment addicts ourselves, we were always waiting for coupons to come out at the large fabric stores before we could afford to buy, so we decided to set one price for our own fabric and keep it that way. $4.99 per yard.

At first our customers doubted that our fabric could match the quality of Hancocks and Hobby Lobby, but what they soon found out is, we have the same supplier. They also thought that we must just have seconds or imperfect material. One they touched the fabric, they realized just how wrong they were.

So how do we afford to offer fabric at such low prices? Well first, we had to be willing to accept less per yard. The quality of our material allowed us to price higher, but we wanted to be known across the area as the one store that carried material you KNEW you could afford. No waiting for sales, no coupons needed, just good quality fabric at a great price.

Next, instead of investing in big bolts of a few patterns of fabric, we purchased flat fold material that offers many patterns and colors in a 6 yard fold. We also were able to purchase excellent name brand fabric in the same way.

And finally, we made the decision to focus only on cotton fabrics. Its what most of our customers are looking for.

But occasionally, we get a bit happy, and can't help ourselves. We will send out a coupon to our newsletter subscribers and Facebook followers for a $1 off per yard.
